Adoptive tracing is a minefield and we strongly advise that you seek counselling help before embarking on this course; we can assist in placing you in contact with one of several professional bodies. We are aware of the emotional complexities involved in making the decision to search for someone and will strive to provide you with the support you need.
	In the UK and abroad, we have access to many different tracing aids that will help locate the person sought. We have access to records going back to the 1920's in addition to modern day electronic resources	If you know the name of the individual, the process may be straightforward; sometimes it may be a convoluted path. Either way, we will be there with you providing professional support and facilities.
	One of the steps to locating a birth parent may involve an appointment with an Adoption Society, in order to find out more information about the person sought. If you wish, we will be pleased to attend with you to make sure you obtain all the information available, as well as the right "moral support". 	Our researcher examines the manual records at the Family Records Office on a regular basis. Manual records are more reliable than erratic computerised data	More than just a question of "looking at someone's file", this type of research takes experience, logic, persistence - and very often some educated guesswork.
