MARIE SZACHNIEWICZ - GUILDFORD & LONDON |
Imagine your first four days on the job and you've already been to Birmingham, Worthing and London, you very quickly learn that you can never plan where you're going to be until you're on the way there. As soon as you walk into the office any plans you may have previously made have changed before you've sat down. Mon-Fri isn't an option in this role and I love the thrill of not knowing where you could be heading in an hours time
In my first 2 weeks I had already been involved with Challenge 21, surveillance, process serving and tracing assignments including some from the USA. Surveillance is an area I particularly enjoy even though you can spend hours sitting in a car with no results, when they finally do come through the feeling is amazing. The saying ‘patience is a virtue' comes to mind. Fingerprinting is an area that I am keen to learn as it can be a crucial part of company theft and fraud investigations
Looking young for my age has it's advantages for many assignments, especially on the Challenge 21 side of things and for some areas of surveillance. I have already been nicknamed ‘pixie' because of it
The few friends that know are still in disbelief at what I do ‘you don't look like a PI' is what they say, but isn't that the point? The joke about the trench coat and sunglasses continues. I'm waiting for my next birthday to come around to see if they include a Sherlock Holmes monocle with the coat
