SPY-IN-THE-SKY AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Answers constantly innovate - faced with the task of photographing land parcels without resorting to commissioning an aircraft for photography we devised our own method - an innovative large wingspan remote control aircraft fitted with remote digital camera. An electric motor enables quiet running from a handheld launch, motor then being switched off while the craft glides on a thermal, giving a stable and quiet platform. Sample results can be seen below. There are significant advantages over traditional aerial photgraphy:

Costs are significantly less than traditional photography
Our craft can fly at a much lower height than a full sized aircraft, with no flight plan booking
Target for photography can be more accurately specified

There are, of course, many applications including matching Land Registry maps to actual geography to determine boundaries etc, or obtaining clear view of an area for surveillance
